HTC Hero ROM - Android ROM Leaked

Thanks for the guys at XDA Developers, there's a leaked HTC Hero's ROM for those who wish to play with it and test it out. This looks like a very sleek interface and hopefully I'll get a chance to test it out soon after some of the unsolved glitches are fixed (WiFi and Bluetooth don't work, the camera is all funkified). Do bear in mind that this is the 1st time we'll see Flash 10 on an Android.

It's A Blu World! Win 1 of the 5 Amazing Blu Prizes

What can I say, it's a Blu world! BluFrog is holding a big contest parallel with its nationwide promo of its Blu Frog - Wildly Healthy Energy drink. Each of the 5 prizes offered are great. And if I really had to choose one, it's gonna be a tough decision. Being a gamer myself, the BluGamer Ultimate Gaming Package is a no brainer. An Xbox 360 Elite loaded with Rock Band 2 and Call of Duty: World at War Complete Package is too hard to resist. Don't worry about going for the all night battle royale with the pals because 2 cases of BluFrog are included!

Well on a second thought, the Happy Blu-Year package brings some interest as well because I've been to New York City, but not for the ever famous new year celebrations. I've only been watching the giant crystal ball dropped live on TV every year at most. It would really check that item off my things to do before I die list once and for all. Imagine how cool would it be, right there in the Big Apple with so many people in the cold - definitely a once in a lifetime experience.

<

My 3rd option would be the Xtreme Blu package which offers a trip to the 2010 Winter X Games. Woohoo! I've seen in on ESPN on numerous occasions and it would be really satisfying to be there and witness the whole extremeness with my own eyes. This will definitely be an exciting event in Aspen Colorado and I'd be ready to snap some close up photos of Shaun White.

Check out It's A Blu World website for more info and details on how to win one of the five amazing prizes. You can either leave a comment, blog about it (like I am doing) or Twitter Tweet (like what almost everyone is doing!)

Windows Mobile 6.5 Custom ROM for My HTC Wizard Cingular 8125

Since Microsoft announced the new Windows Mobile 6.5, I believe many have been looking forward to experience it hand on. Thanks to the flexibility of the Windows Mobile platform on smartphones and PDAs, I can grab a ROM and reflash my HTC Wizard Cingular 8125 to test out what's so new in Windows Mobile 6.5, rather than just admiring its description on paper. I plan to test it out for a week and hopefully no major bug or incompatibility to my HTC Wizard which is already 3 years old and considering it was shipped originally with only Windows Mobile 5, it could make things interesting. Logically, I would expect it to be slow and sluggish when overloaded with applications, but we'll see.

Chevy Camaro Has Zune Compatibility

There was an info from Microsoft personnel that the Camaro is actually Zune compatible. Hence, they tested it in and confirmed that it works! Microsoft team had their first confirmed & successful test of Zune against a GM vehicle in the wild today. One of their staff stopped by a Chevy dealership to confirm that the new Camaro’s MP3 connectivity kit worked great with production Zunes. The test was very successful – and this culminates a considerable amount of work with both GM in Detroit and their supplier in Korea to ensure a great user experience. (Thumbs up!)
Zune connectivity is a standard feature on the all new exciting 2010 Camaro which is the first of some 28 models to support Zune as this feature is rolled out across GM models in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia through 2011.

Digital TV Switch June 12 2009

It's here. The analog days for your TV is over! The whole of America made a switch from analog to digital TV broadcasts on Friday. Yet, there were more than 700,000 calls made to the Digital TV hotline from the uninitiated with over 20% of the live calls are over reception issues. Any set hooked up to cable or a satellite dish is unaffected by the end of analog broadcasts. So those who have subscription to DirectTV, Charter, Comcast and such are rolling fine. But around 17 million U.S. households still rely on antennas. Nielsen Co. said poor and minority households were less likely to be prepared for Friday's analog shutdown, as were households consisting of people younger than 35. At least America is kind enough to send out $40 digital converter coupons to its people (limit = 2 per household).

H1N1 Declared Pandemic - Watch Out!

The WHO has declared H1N1 as a pandemic -- a first global flu epidemic in 41 years and the 1st in my lifetime. Infections in the United States, Europe, Australia, South America and elsewhere climbed to nearly 30,000 cases since first reported. WHO alert level is at Level 6 which is the highest level, signalling a global pandemic is under way. It meant that the A(H1N1) was spreading from human to human in more than one region. The swine flu vaccine reportedly will be ready after September and drugmakers have been urged to speed up the process.

Money Saving Advice

Pay off your debt and don't constantly be charged by the bank. Credit cards and over drafts cost a lot of money. Interest rates are high. If you actually paid off your debt you would be saving yourself a lot of money. Paying interest on loans and credit cards is effectively giving away your cash. Would you not prefer to spend this on yourself? Perhaps try to withdraw your weekly allowance and then leave all your credit/ATM cards at home. This will stop you from buying those items that you really don't need. If you do need it you will consider it more carefully.

Ultra60 Super High Speed Internet from Charter!

"God Bless Internet." That was a quote 10 years ago back in 1999 from the hit movie American Pie. 10 years later, I think I am thankful for the blazing fast speed of broadband. One thing about high speed Internet is that when I've experienced the faster connection starting all the way down from dial-up, it's never possible for me to settle for less. Who could still tolerate the dial-up limitation of waiting minutes for a webpage to load. That's right. I can only move forward and I think we all should. Charter has just introduced the Ultra60 Mbps service in St. Louis and at 60 Mbps, the Internet is a completely different experience. It brings seamless in gaming, streaming, downloading to another whole new level thanks to the ultra fast Ultra60.

Dubbed by Charter as Phatband, this Ultra60 Mbps service is the first of the Phatband speeds that Charter will be rolling out and stay tuned for more to come. Forget about DSL, which is like dial-up to Ultra60. Find out more about Ultra60 at the Ultra60 Information Page.Get the real deal and own the Ultra60 service and be the envy of your friends and family. I know my friend Michael and Jay D will love this for their WoW battles (I can't believe they're still not through with it). For me, with Ultra60, streaming will be without jitters and bathroom breaks. Keep yourself updated with Charter's latest roll outs and promos by following Charter on Twitter at Charter’s Twitter Feed.

Upgraded to Firefox 3, Finally

It's been a while since Mozilla rolled out the much improved Firefox 3 browser. And I only just moved over, others would use the term upgraded, over the recent weekend. Not because I am reluctant, it's just that I'm lazy. I may quote the phrase if it ain't broke don't fix it, but this is a fairly easy task: download the setup file of the latest version of Firefox 3 from Mozilla's webpage and install it. It will migrate over all the current settings I have on Firefox 2 with ease. I was afraid that it would loose my saved passwords so I copied the signon2 text file which stores the data as to back up in case the new almighty Firefox 3 accidentally went through a hiccup and missed the password part. Additionally, I backed up the bookmarks HTML file also in case there's none when I opened up Firefox 3.

New iPhone 3GS Annoucement Soon?

There's been quite a rumor about Apple announcing a new iPhone this coming WWDC. Codenamed iPhone 3GS they say with double the CPU speed and also double the RAM (that would kick it up a notch). With a rumored leaked photo of this new Apple iPhone 3GS which comes in matte and without any chrome lining, how much should we believe? As we all know, seeing is believing. And it won't be long..

The Tale of Despereaux - Sucks

I spent 90 minutes watching The Tale of Despereaux and it absolutely fades in comparison to another mouse movie, Ratatouille. The plot itself is a pretty dull and straightforward one, too little room for imagination! And yes I regretted in watching it. The story didn't have any essence to capture the attention of the audience. Absolutely nada. I am very disappointed that it turned out to be nothing more than one which could only make the grade to appear on the cartoon airtime slot for kids. I am giving it a 1/5 rating. 1 as a sympathy token. And I just checked, this DVD ranked #244 in DVD Sales at Amazon.com. This makes a pretty good "bad" Christmas gift.
