Definition of Domestic Partnership

A domestic partnership is defined as two individuals who:
Have maintained a legal residence together for the past 12 months and intend to do so indefinitely; and
Are neither married to nor legally separated from anyone else; and
Are each other's sole domestic partner, live in a spouse-like relationship, and intend to remain so indefinitely; and
Are not in a state or jurisdiction which permits or recognizes same-sex marriage; and
Are jointly responsible for each other's basic living expenses and are financially interdependent; and
Are at least eighteen (18) years of age and mentally competent to consent to contract; and
Are not in the relationship solely for the purpose of obtaining benefits coverage.
