It was Halloween 13 nights of horror, there were a ton of horror movies shown on TV during the countdown of Halloween freakfest. Personally, I love watching horror and suspense thriller such as Saw, Hostel, House of Wax, Halloween, just to name a few. The experience of adrenaline thrill while watching the victims escape their death while trying to solve the puzzle of the suspense in my head is the most entertaining element of watching horror films.
My friends and I had a horror movie marathon two weeks before Halloween, we were searching every nook and corner of Four-Star-Movie Rental for some top of the line horrifying thriller to satisfy our scary parties. We came across Stephen King's latest movie, 1408, also recommended by coursemate who covered his eyes throughout the movie in the theater. We were brought along into John Cusack's fear in the movie where he acted as a man who specifies in debunking paranormal occurrences and discovered the unexplained horrifying phenomena in the hotel room while combating his own hallucination.
I can't wait to see The Mist by Stephen King where it is also full of mysterious fear involving survival of blood-thirsty alien-like creatures. I'm sure I will be riding along the fear of people fighting their lives in a small supermarket, combating mental toll in the middle of thick mysterious mist. Well, is that a movie of human sacrifice, or the noble will prevail? You'll have to watch it for yourself.

Review: USB 5-in-1 Charging Data Cable for iPod, PSP, DS, Mini USB
I purchased the 5-in-1 USB Charging Data Cable from DayDeal and dang it doesn't charge my iPod! Mine is a 4G 40GB iPod (no color screen nor video). I was disappointed. Strangely, it does charge a iPod Nano. It charges my cingular 8125 and my Sony PSP like it should. Now that my iPod can't be charged using that cable, I might return this guy and look for other options.

Reward Redemption Headache
Sometimes when you have too many options with reward redemptions, you take a longer than average time to select the item. I can exchange $25 worth of gift card from MyPoints but can't make up my mind on which merchant to choose from. Among those which I have been considering are California Pizza Kitchen, GAP, Finishline, SportsAuthority, Lids and Walgreens.
The $25 reward from Amazon apparently was out of stock (???). I guess Amazon is really hot!
Another one is a $10 credit from Survey Exchange.

1st Glimpse of November Snow
I was walking back from my interview today when the first few drops of snow hit Madison. It was really cold this morning when I headed out to ECB. Weather temperatures of 2 - 3 degrees Celsius with wind chills. I was cycling against the wind flow and had to use extra energy to fight the wind. By the time I got to Union South, I was panting and puffing, my legs were tired. After a brief rest in the warm and cozy Union South lounge, I made my way to ECB to get ready and prepare for my interview. I thought the whole interview was okay and lasted about 25 minutes. It was a 30-minute slot.
After I changed into my jeans and sweater, I was lucky to catch a glimpse of November snow in Madison before I leave this marvellous city, maybe for good. Time flies, wink wink blink blink and it's already November and there's only a month and a half left in the fall semester for my fellow friends who are still in college. The skies get dark by 5pm. Yes, winter is coming, but I am leaving.

Math Tutors From SCORE!
Tyler Donovan had an okay day. Despite being sacked 9 times, he still managed 238 yards and 2 touchdowns against a very solid no.1 team in the country. Wondered what kind of a day the other Tyler had today, my 4-year-old hyperactive nephew, I think he has another of his soccer Saturday games. And he's as clumsy in soccer as he is with numbers. He can't write the numbers 1 to 10 in a right order and set. He would probably skip 4 when going from 3 to 5. At the age of 4, he has a brilliant mind, partly thanks to the many interactive entertainment he is provided with (games such as LeapFrog, PlayStation and XBOX 360 plus many others). When he finally starts pre-school, maybe he could use some Math Tutors help in improving his math skills. At SCORE!, an active, hands-on approach to tutoring ensures that kids go through the learning process with interest and remember what they've learned.
This is brought to you by SCORE!

PSP Latest Firmware v3.72 Is Out Via Network Update
The latest firmware for the Sony PSP is v3.72. Remember, it is important to update your PSP to the latest firmware in order to make full use of the added features of each new firmware and also for you to be able to play the latest games. Generally, the latest releases would require the latest firmware. I am still running on 3.40OE-A firmware because there are certain features which I wouldn't want to lose. You can easily update your PSP firmware via the Network Update feature in your PSP via Wifi or at any PSP station in game stores.

Use Your Cell Phone As Your Boarding Pass
Cell phones are already the ticket to mobile communication, but before long, they'll be your airline ticket as well. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) just announced a global standard that will eventually allow passengers to check in for flights using a bar code sent to their cell phones. This International Herald Tribune article goes into more detail, but here are the basics of how it will work when widespread adoption goes into effect in 2010.
When you book your flight, you'll register your cell phone number and then receive a text message containing a bar code that will serve as your boarding pass. During check-in, a scanner will read the bar code directly off your cell phone screen. According to an MSNBC.com article on the topic, passengers will also have the option of receiving the bar code by email and printing it out. This is all part of a plan to phase out those old-time paper tickets.
When this happens, my favorite walking-out-the-door mantra of "tickets, passport, money," is going to need some revising.

iPhone Wins Invention of the Year from TIMES
Last year, YouTube was heads and shoulders above the rest and won it all. This year, TIMES just named the Apple iPhone as the Invention of the Year. With so much hype before, during and after its release, I think that's a fair decision for all. Without a doubt, it easily claims the spot of being the most advanced breakthrough for a cellphone, even better than any Windows Mobile phone.
The top 5 reasons why the iPhone won are:
1) Physical apperance and pretty graphic user interface (GUI)
2) Cool touchscreen features
3) It will make other phones better (???)
4) It has OS X in it
5) It has great potential to improve and evolve into a much better phone in the future.
Yes, in the future, I sees myself owning an iPhone. Unless someone comes out with a WiiPhone. Well, maybe.
