I was introduced to the Prince of Persia franchise by my old housemate who played it on PC a few years back. I gave it a try a few times as well while he was trying to finish it off. It has an average rating of 4/5 (as reviewed and voted by 27 people). If you're a Prince of Persia fan, this is a decent price for this game and I hope you enjoy it.

New Super Mario Bros for Nintendo Wii

The kids of the 80's are definitely loving this. And they'd be missing out on a huge come back hit if they choose to skip this experience. The favorite game of the 80's is back in the New Super Mario Bros (NSMB) for Nintendo Wii. This is a follow up to the Nintendo DS version which also became an instant hit last Christmas. I remember that Super Mario was a must have game in the Nintendo console 15 years back and Nintendo did a great job in renewing the Mario franchise with Super Mario Bros 3. 2009 will all be about the New Super Mario Bros Wii which now provides the option to have multiplayers actively playing at the very same time. Now I am thinking about tag team acts to get through the stages and deliberate pushing of your partner to sabotage the game. Up to 4 players can be playing at the same time and it is gonna look chaotic to me, but fun. No doubt about it.

I am itching to get my hands on my Wii and have a go at this all time favorite game franchise from Nintendo. Also introduced this time around are new power ups like the Ice Flower which is the opposite of the usual fireball attack. With the Ice Flower power up, you could freeze the enemy into a block and use it as an object to be thrown or pushed around. Then there's the Penguin Suit which, on top of the Ice Flower's ability, allows players to slide along the ground and across water as well as have better control on ice and in water. The Propeller Suit power up allows players to launch up into the air (fly).

This game has gathered some accolades like the IGN 2009 Wii Game of the Year Award and Best Wii Game Award at the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards besides making the biggest debut for a Wii game in Japan. And in the US, it has become the biggest seller after the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which is another humongous hit to be honest with the graphics, gameplay and everything. But to compare the New Super Mario Bros to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 would not be fair considering the New Super Mario Bros is still being played in a 2D platform amid efforts by the game developer to enhance gameplay experience by having some of the characters and objects are 3D polygonal renderings on 2D backgrounds, resulting in what some people call 2.5D. Having achieved that,

Amazon has New Super Mario Bros (Wii) for $40 with free shipping. It is currently out of stock but estiamted to be back in stock on January 3, 2010. Nevertheless, this matches the $40 pricetag which Best Buy is offering now as part of Best Buy's promotion. However, it is out of stock as per Best Buy's website as well, so you  need to go to B&M to see if they have it. A quick check for my zipcode showed that the 5 nearest Best Buy stores are out. Anyway, it's cheaper if you buy this through Amazon now because you don't have to pay for tax. And don't forget your cashback through BigCrumbs.

Sony PS3 Drake's Fortune Bundle 160GB - $299.99!

Sony is offering 160GB PlayStation 3 Drake's Fortune Bundle which includes 2 Dualshock 3 controllers for $299.99 with free shipping. This is quite a good price I would say for this bundle, so Drake's Fortune fans should snap up this deal. Earlier on, this bundle costs a whopping $499.99. It seems obvious that Sony is trying to get rid of the old stock of the non-slim PS3. This now sells for $349.99 at Amazon.com.

* Internal 160GB HDD for storing your games, music, and photos

Kensington Universal Travel Adapter with USB

It has been 4 years since I purchased the Kensington universal travel adapter from Amazon.com and I am glad that it has survived all the international travelling and sockets over the years. For $29.99, it performed to its expectations and standards. Now, with so many electrical devices offering USB charge support, I am tempted to get myself another universal travel adapter from Kensington - a newer version with a female USB port. This would allow me to plug in the general USB cable and charge my electrical devices from the power outlet around the world - extremely convenient. I see many other generic universal USB adapters on sale for cheap, but it'd be a great advantage to have the USB function incorporated into this universal travel adapter. However, there are some negative reviews posted on Amazon.com about how it failed to charge their USB devices. Now I wonder.

PSP-3000 Is Out in North America

The new PSP-3000, dubbed the PSP Brite, is hitting the shelves in North America markets. The 3rd edition of the PSP series, up from the previous PSP Phat (PSP-1000) and PSP Slim (PSP-2000), it has a brighter LCD screen and reportedly still gives its owners the same amount of battery life. The silver Ratchet & Clank bundle is one of the 1st few that you can pick up now. It's a Silver PSP with a copy of Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (I had the demo UMD previously, a fun game I would say), a National Treasure 2 UMD movie(which I already watched and it's a good one if you enjoyed National Treasure and Nicolas Cage), 1GB memory stick (too small for my liking, you can get 4GB ones for ~$25 nowadays) and an online download voucher for echochrome.

The PSP-3000 is priced at $199.99. Widely available from Amazon (no need to pay tax). Try Amazon Prime for Free 2-Day Shipping. It's a free trial and you can cancel after the trial without getting charged.

R-Type Command PSP Price Drop - Still with Free Replica

I hopped over to Amazon yesterday and saw that the price of R-Type Command for PSP has dropped to $26.79 (new). And it still comes with the free ship replica! The free ship replica was originally listed when you pre-order R-Type Command for PSP at $39.99 as I mentioned before. From the reviews, it seems that this is not the shooter game which I had hoped for. It's more of a strategy game. The graphics look as awesome as before, not sure about the gameplay though. I'll keep monitoring the price drop and hope to snap the deal when it feels right.

JBL On Tour Portable Speaker System

The JBL On Tour Portable Speaker System is one of the items in my wishlist. However, I am not planning to swipe my credit card and pay for it. I'll make use of my existing Amazon.com gift certificates to redeem it for "free". I've been monitoring the price for a month or two. It has dropped from $39.99 to $39.19 to $38.80 now. This item would serve as a travel/portable speaker set for me since the Dell E1405's speakers are crappy and simply not loud enough. It'd be mainly reserved for watching movies/listening to music only. Reviews on Amazon seem to suggest that this might be worth it. I'll write a review of my own when I redeem this item.

Trying to Win a Nintendo Wii from CircuitCity Sweepstakes

The Nintendo Wii keeps getting snapped up by holiday gift shoppers and I barely have a chance to even add it to my freaking cart. I am hesitant to choose the option of buying one from eBay or Craigslist for a jacked u price. So the best way out now is to win one. It is one of the hottest item on the wishlist this holiday season. Thanks to the low inventory, this item has been living the hotlist for a while.

The 21 Days of Wii Sweepstakes. Here I come. "Wii would like to play." Wish me luck and I hope I can win one for my loved one. Like eBay's commercial said, "It's better when you win it." and FREE.

If you can't win one from somewhere and really want to buy one, check out the Nintendo Wii sellers at Amazon

Currently Playing on My PSP: NCAA Football 2007

I am currently playing NCAA Football 2007 by EA Sports on my Sony PSP. That's the latest version in the market now, sadly. Somewhy EA Sports decided no to roll out a 2008 version for the PSP platform. I think the game is a must play for all college football enthusiasts so that they can show their support for their school by thrashing whoever their no.1 rival is.

The only downpoint is that the team rosters do not have the names of the players. The QB would have for eg. his name on the jersey as QB #7, WR #1 or TE #10. That kinda sucks. Yes it really does. The features are of that player who wears that number, height, size, agility, appearance and such, just not the name on the jersey. I already played through 2 seasons with Wisconsin ending up as the top ranked team in the country at the end of the season and emerging as national champs. I am getting a little bored of it now. But this game is really good on the PSP, very similar to the game plays on the Madden NFL which I used to play on the PS2 and PC.

Cingular 8125, HTC Wizard Can't Start/Boot, Buying New Battery

My Cingular 8125, HTC Wizard smartphone just died on me. It was frozen before I went to sleep so I reset it and went to sleep. It remained frozen the next morning. After I tried another reset, it would shut off after the first screen. I searched for possible answers on forums, and most of these occurrences are due to battery failures. Let's hope that's the case with mine because I don't need hardware problem with my phone right now. I went ahead and ordered an OEM replacement battery. From Amazon. $2.89, that's cheap. Cheaper than a burger.

Tekken Dark Ressurection only $19.99 on Amazon

Now it's only $19.99 on Amazon. I grabbed myself a copy. Tekken Dark Ressurection for PSP is one of the best games for the Sony PSP platform. If you have a custom firmware installed (for eg. 3.40OE-A), you can get the image file and load it straight from your memory stick. Please only do so if you already own the original game, or else you're committing piracy.
