A few years back, when Gmail wasn't around, when email inbox capacity requires money for extra large storage, there was Walla.com which provided 25MB of inbox space for free. It was when Hotmail was offering 2MB and Yahoo! was offering 6MB to internet users around the world at $0 cost. Now, in 2008, I checked back Walla and it's no longer operative. Google killed them all I guess.

Still Remember Anna Kournikova? Maxim Does
Anna Kournikova is a former professional tennis player who is more famous for her looks than her forehands and backhands. The Russian blonde became a pin-up girl from the ATP and became quite popular. However, she has never won a singles ATP tournament before. She did win 2 Women's Doubles Grand Slam titles with partner Swiss Martina Hingis. I am thinking she's earning more money when she did photo shoots and magazine covers than her career winnings. She married singer Enrique Iglesias and now they are separated. Her name doesn't come up very often now, but surely Maxim didn't forget about this Russian bombshell, putting her on the cover of Maxim September 2008. [download link for her photos]

Install it and have a little retro fun on your PC. (Download link - 20.3MB). Yes, it is gratis.

Larger Hard Drives Possible Thanks to Self-assembling Polymer Arrays
Most folks up in Madison are readying their face paint and stocking up on tailgating supplies, but the geeks among us (bless 'em!) are focusing their attention on something much more relevant to your future RAID array. A team from UW-Madison (along with partners from Hitachi) is getting set to publish a report that details a patterning technology that could offer performance gains over current methods while reducing time and cost of manufacturing. The process builds on existing approaches by "combining the lithography techniques traditionally used to pattern microelectronics with novel self-assembling materials called block copolymers." So, what does all this technobabble mean for you? Huge gains in density on patterned media, or if that's still not straightforward enough, ginormous HDDs in the near future. (source: Engadget)

Dallas Homes - Good Time to Say Deal?
With the current economy slump and the prices of homes dropping, this is the bext time for those who have been saving up their money to get a new home. Yes, the conditions are rough out there, so I am not suggesting this to just anyone. To those who have set aside their money for a new home, this is the good market to get your new home or invest in. When the economy bounces back (we all know it will, if America doesn't, good luck to the rest of the world) the value would regain and you are either staying in your new home after getting it at a lower-than-current price or you'd be raking in profits for a better home.
If I have those money, I'd get a new home in Dallas, Texas. Not because Jessica Simpson would be showing up often or to watch Tony Romo screwing things up for the Cowboys in the NFL playoffs. It's because Dallas is the 9th largest city in the US. Maybe it'll move up the ranks in the years to come, who knows. Pick a location I like, manage some renovations through Dallas foundation repair and then throw a new home party. Obviously I have to go through Yellow Pages and the internet to find reputable Dallas landscaping solutions to create the perfect home to stay or to sell. Sounds pretty much like in the movies, but it can be real. Yes, seriously.

Everyday Is A Good Day
Yes, I've said before today is a mystery and that's why it's called the present. For everyone who feels vindicated or pissed off today, don't. Don't think about the bad day. Everyday is a good day - it's up to us good for what.

Circus Is Over in Green Bay, Now Pack Your Cheeseheads!
Yes, the Brett Favre saga or the Green Bay Circus as we call it, is totally over. Now every Favre fan or Cheesehead should move on. Favre did, willingly or unwillingly, that's another story. However, he rather be throwing the pigskin than settle for the $20 million marketing offer in which the Packers would have the legend QB sit out of the team and let Aaron Rodgers do his things.
Many Cheeseheads are probably disappointed right now, that their NFL record holder of most competitive games start would be wearing the #4 jersey for a team other than the Green Bay Packers. It's the #12 era now. The #4 era is over. Or should I say the #4 era is somewhere in New York. You can ditch your cheese curds, brats and beer and jet off to New York or you stay a Cheesehead getting ready for another season. Boy, I don't know what to expect out of this Rodgers kid. I'd pin higher hopes on Matt Flynn to be honest with you. So get your cheese butts together and let's start dealing with fantasy football.

CHINA HD DVD - No Kidding!
As we all may know, the DVD format war was over, with Sony's Blue Ray format kicked HD DVD's ass resulting in the death of the latter. However, now HD DVD format is reappearing, only this time it's China HD DVD. No, that's not a typo. This is real. Rising from the ashes of HD DVD, the Chinese version of the format is getting ready to launch. Shanghai United Optical Disc is set to power up its production line of CBHD by the end of the fourth quarter. CBHD (China Blue High-definition Disc), recently called CH-DVD (China High Definition DVD) is similar to HD DVD, but supposedly with more robust copy protection.
Parallel with the general knowledge that almost everything is "Made in China" nowadays,
this "new" format will have lower royalty fees, and hardware should be cheaper for disc replicators. Yes, just the way things should be in China. One thing to point out is that with the emergence of this China HD DVD, imagine the potential market of billions of Chinese consumers.
It remains unclear whether this new format will get the support of the major movie studios who already committed to Sony's Blu-ray format. Now to come up with another one, would they be willing to go through the format war, again? So the guess is that the format might die quickly and quietly. You gotta give the Chinese credit for not giving up. They showed that they can do it for the Olympics, they showed it here too. Watch out, USA!

Design A Logo and Try VistaPrint Free
I always like the idea of having a true identity to be known by others. Everyone is unique and should be known for his or her qualities. I might not have a shop or a restaurant, however, I can still create logos for myself or my website and brand myself. Of course, first of all you will need to Design a Logo. Bring that creativity out of yourself. The key point to creativity is to be able to express yourself without boundaries, to reveal your true identity.
Wearing a tshirt with the name and logo of my website is definitely the most affordable way other than online advertising to expose it to other people. Other than that, you can use your logo and order some business cards to be distributed to your friends and family. Even better, you can try out VistaPrint for FREE business cards. Choose from the list of options for a design choice which fits your website or business profile the best.
There's even an option of free logo design if you have been thinking the complicated way. Sometimes it's best to keep it simple and straight to the point. It keeps the focus to be emphasized better and provides direct information. Well, as many are aware, I am a deal catcher. So how can I leave out the coupon codes in conjuction with its promo.
If you think distributing brochures is the way to go, you can use the code FreeBrochures08 for 25 Free Brochures credits. My view would be print the tshirts, brochures and business cards. It's like a complete set and you're all set! Well, if you're thinking about tshirts alone, try TShirts25 for 25% Off T-shirts.
I will start with the tshirts and wear it out. Show my friends my blog's URL. It's always important to start the 1st step.

PSP Phone
The rumors of the PSP Phone has been around for quite a while. I guess some are just tired of waiting for Sony to come up to their senses and implement it. At least one guy quit waiting and did it himself. Apparently he successfully "created" a PSP Phone by modding it. He used what looks like a Haier touch screen phone and integrated it into the PSP system, replacing the UMD drive. Yes, he had to fit it in there, where else. With Sony failing to come out with some sort of amazing featurephone hybrid, some hacker has already done the job for them. "Through the amazing wonders of modern thinphone technology, soldering irons and probably a bit of glue, some hacker has managed the slap a Haier touchscreen phone onto the back of his PSP -- killing the UMD drive in the process, but we'd say it was well worth it."

Advertising Agency to Boost Your Business
One can't be an employee forever if one wants to strike the jackpot. Maybe you want to be able to afford a biiger house, a bigger car and offer many other luxury items for your family. Getting into business is a nice step towards that goal. No, this is not the hey you should get rich advice. This is a mature planned mindset for those who would really like to provide more for their loved ones. At one point of your career, you'd think about this. Because you have your family to think about. You see your kids growing up in fornt of you.
However, it is not easy to start a successful business. It is actually harder than it sounds. From delicate planning to efficient and smart management, it all take a lot of hard work and dedication. My professor once said, if you work hard, you will succeed. For starting a new business, one would need solid financial planning and briliant marketing strategy. Marketing using the service of an advertising agency is a great option to follow.
You may check out some UK Advertising Agencies and you'll come to realise they provide professional advice which will definitely help your business to grow. It is also easy for you as you would have great support from the people with relevant backgrounds. Other than that, you can easily monitor your business performance with their help. You'll need not to worry as agency is reliable and safe.

Beijing Olympics 2008 Begins!
Today is also the official opening day for the Beijing 2008 Olympics in China. It is an event which has used up more than $40 billion dollars along its 7 years of preparation for this global event. This major event is putting Beijing or China in the eyes of the world. One World, One Dream. That's the slogan for this edition of the Olympics 2008. I think this cannot happen at a better time to encourage unity among all in this world. Let's rake up the golds! 302 up for grabs.

08/08/08 - Once In A Lifetime
Today is August 8 2008 - 08/08/08. This is an auspicious date for the Chinese especially because the number 8 is believed to bring wealth. And many Chinese all over the world chose this date to tie their knots because of this unique date and of course, it is easy to remember. Speaking of easy to remember, wouldn't it be nice if your kid is born on this day? When he or she needs to fill in the birthdate in the future, it'll be just 08/08/08. In fact, this 08/08/08 happens once in a lifetime and the pattern is once every decade, because you can't turn back the clock. To quote the lyrics of a Westlife song, "If I could I would, turn back the time."
Next up, 09/09/09!

Return Receipt with Gmail
Google's Gmail itself does not have the return receipt function, like many of the other major free webmail providers like Yahoo! and Windows Hotmail. In order to use the Return Receipt feature for free, the only way is to enable POP3 access to your Gmail and access your Gmail using a mail program liek Mozilla Thunderbird, MS Outlook or Outlook Express. I personally use Thunderbird.

Zenni Optical: Low Prices
A lot of the people around me have heard about the Zenni Optical presciption glasses which start from a mouthwatering $8. Have you heard about it? Well, if you are wearing eyeglasses you should be paying attention to this as it is too good of an offer to pass up! Fox News TV has mentioned this and even the Clark Howard Show recommended it.
ZenniOptical.com offers unique and stylish prescription glasses and you can browse their wide selection online. The key point behind why they are able to offer such low prices to customers is because they don't need a middleman and advertising budget. Why? Because they sell only their own manufactured frames, directly to the custmoers. This benefits both the company and also the customers as Zenni Optical can attract more customers and customers just love lower prices.
I should consider eyeglasses coated with anti-scratch layer plus UV protection to take better care of my eyes. I am concerned with the amount of UV in the daily sunlight that I am exposed to. I am glad that Zenni Optical provides such a variety of choices with respect to my requirements. You should check it out too, seriously.

Feedback Is A Noun
The word "feedback" is actually defined as a noun. It is not a verb, as many of us are using. On common definition of "feedback" is 'The return of information about the result of a process or activity; an evaluative response.' I always hear people saying "please feedback to me". Grammatically, you cannot feedback something to someone. It's wrong!

It's Already August!
It's already August. Another month to look forward to. When time passes in a snap. In this global financial turmoil and political uncertainties, everyone is moving on with life as usual trying to cope with the tough situation. No need to dwell in the past because yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, that's why it's called the present.
