The Simple Joys of Everyday Living

Sadly, we are usually too busy pursuing career, wealth and personal satisfaction all our lives that we forget to enjoy the simple joys of everyday living. How has life changed over the past 50 years? How your parents and previous generation managed things and what now were unthinkable back then. If you stick too much to pursuing wealth "for the good of your family's future", then you're forgetting to live your life.

Apple Tablet Rumors: 2011 Launch

We might be looking at a possibility of a tablet notebook from Apple early next year. Rumor has it that the Apple Tablet, which has gone through many setbacks in its 4 years of development, is finally ready to meet its fanboys and give PC another nudge. Judging from the success of Apple in getting the Multitouch technology into such a commanding market achievement, high expectations are in place for this much awaited Apple Tablet. It can succeed where Microsoft couldn't. It could boost the tablet laptop market towards further improvements, we strongly believe. The Apple Tablet may come with 10 inch screen (most probably LED-backlighted) and 3G feature. And things will just get more interesting as we go.

Need Work, Free Resumes

I saw this piece of photo over at Yahoo! news this morning and it reminds me once again that some of us are really down deep in the whole recession thing. Many graduates are finding it hard to get a good job which matches their interest, what more to say one which pays them well. Besides that, the number of paid internships have been reduced except those of big corporations. One guy resorted to distributing his resumes at the roadside. Think on the bright side, this chap is making efforts to push himself into the market and give him credits for the creativity and willingness. Let's hope for the best for all of us.

Things Will Always Be Alright

It's always alright in the end — if it's not alright, it's not the end!

SANYO Eneloop Lamp 3-in-1

Sanyo is squeezing 3 uses out of a single lamp. Sanyo's new Eneloop Lamp is a desk light that can also work as an emergency flashlight and even send some healing energy your way--or so the company says. Operating on rechargeable AA eneloop batteries, Sanyo's new Eneloop Lamp based on high-luminance LED technology can be situated anywhere in the room since no cords constrain the placement. Now that's flexibility. The batteries are recharged by putting the lamp unit on the charging stand. In low-white-light mode, one 12-hour charge lasts an impressive 45 hours. On the downside, it lasts only 3 hours if in high output mode. The Eneloop Lamp also features a blue lamp "Healing Light" mode that according to Sanyo "creates a healing ambience". We don't know exactly what the lamp will heal, nor have we seen any scientific data confirming this claim.

Finally, when the body is tilted 90 degrees or more, "a built-in acceleration sensor" turns the lamp into a flashlight that lasts up to 6 hours on one full charge. Sanyo suggests the flashlight be used in an emergency situations like a midnight earthquake or for more frequent day-to-day use as a handy portable light. The Eneloop Lamp goes on sale September 11, but no official price has been announced yet.

Young Men vs Old Men: Who's the Fool?

Junichi Inamoto Joins Rennes

Japanese midfielder Junichi Inamoto has signed a deal to join French Ligue 1 team Rennes from next season onwards. Inamoto shot to fame when Arsene Wenger bought him from Gamba Osaka of Japan and presented him with limited chances at Highbury. With Arsenal, he scored only 4 goals for Arsenal in his only season there, 2 of which came in Europe. At Fulham, he even managed to score a goal against Manchester United himself!

Michael Owen Joins Manchester United on Free Transfer

It's officially official. Michael Owen is a Manchester United man. Owen penned a 2 year deal with 2008 European Champions and 2009 European runner up which is rumored to be based on performance. Anyhow, with the big sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid and Carlos Tevez not signing a new deal, seems like Owen is the man Alex wants. A man with a proven goal scoring record during his Liverpool days, this seems like a fair bet. However, he hasn't been the same guy who awed everyone at 1998's World Cup with his wondergoal against Argentina. Nevertheless, this should be the best chance for him to resurrect his career.
