VLC Media Player 200% Volume Control

The latest version of the VLC media player has an interesting feature which allows the volume to be adjusted/amplified up to 200% mark.
This works best for laptop, notebook, tablet PC and netbook users who watch videos on their laptops using the built in speakers.
The popular open source multi-platform media player VLC will let you increase volume up to 200%, if you are using the volume slider. This applies even if you are increasing the volume by placing the cursor above the volume bar and using a scroll wheel or a touch pad to control volume output. But there are comments by some that the 100% is actually a gimmick! Some users claimed that they get the same volume at VLC 100% as they get for Winamp 50%
