Rafael van der Vaart Spurs Tottenham On

Last season, Tottenham Hotspurs edged out the money rich Manchester City on the very last day of the season for a slot in this season's lucarative UEFA Champions League competition in a fight down to the finishline. This season, Spurs fans are proud to see their websites splashed with Champions League pages and their jerseys having the Champions League patch. In Harry Redknapp's audacious attempt to push Spurs into top flight to break the elite four of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, the season took a change, inarguably a season-defining move which shocked everybody, even to Harry Redknapp himself to be honest.
Rafael van der Vaart is a Spurs player! The Dutch maestro will turn Spurs into a definite contender to remain as one of the elite fours and will have Liverpool fans kicking themselves in the gut as they move on with another disappointing season ahead. A well accomplished central playmaker from the famous Ajax youth academy and could also operate in the wings, van der Vaart shows great promises to fit the the fast English game to showcase his talents and prove Real Madrid wrong as what Robben and Sneijder did after leaving Madrid. After they were released by Real Madrid (van der Vaart stayed), Robben went on to win the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich and made it to the UEFA Champions League final while Sneijder was the anchor to Inter Milan's treble feat under current Madrid coach Jose Mourinho. This might just prove to be Rafael's time.

Late: Switching Over to the Fresh Look for the New Yahoo! Mail

I know there's this link showing up on my Yahoo! mail asking me to switch to the new Yahoo! mail with the improved user interface but I just gladly stuck to the classic view which I have been so used to since I began as a Yahoo! user in 2000. 10 years passed just like that and I have been a net surfer for 10 years. Unbelieveable. 10 years just zipped by and said goodbye. Below is the information from Yahoo! regarding its updates. I am a user who made the switch very very late.

Based upon user feedback, we have made Yahoo! Mail even better than before by streamlining the entire look and adding new functionality to provide a better email experience.

* Less Advertisement
We've removed all the ads on the left hand side of the page.
* Increased font
To improve the readability of email, we've optimized the font size.
* Simplified Email Filtering
Easily filter your messages between your Contacts and Connections under the "View" menu.
* Reading pane now easier to resize/minimize
We removed the "X" in the Reading Pane making it easier to resize/minimize this pane. To minimize, click the down arrows in the middle of the reading pane bar. To resize, mouse anywhere on the bar (except on the down arrows) and drag the bar up or down to any location that suits your needs.
* Improved attachment management
By setting up the new attachment tool, you are able to select multiple files at once (including an entire folder), see thumbnails of photos you upload, rotate photos, and the ability to send more photos quicker - click here for more details. If you do not want to try the new tool, you'll still be able to select multiple files at once and see the upload progress of each file
* Applications Box below your Folders
All of the useful/productive applications you're used to using have now been nicely organized in the bottom left hand side.
* Calendar and Notepad now grouped with Applications
We've tucked some of our favorite Yahoo! applications under the new Application Box.
* Select Messages in View
In addition to selecting all of your messages in your Inbox, you can now select just those in your view. Click on the "actions" button and choose "Select Emails in View".
* Improved tab management
After you send an email, the send confirmation tab will automatically close after you've viewed it getting out of your way. You can still go to your "sent" folder to view any emails that you have sent.
* Message size column turned off
To clean up your inbox, we've removed the message size column. If this is important to you, just do the following to enable the size column again:
1. Click on the View button at the top right of the page.
2. From the drop down menu, under "Show:" select "Size Column"
* Refreshed color options
With a fresh look come fresh, new colors! We hope you enjoy them as much as we had fun creating them.
* Moved "Print" button under Actions Menu
We moved the "Print" button under the Actions Menu in the inbox/folder view.
* "Mail Classic" button moved under Options menu
We have simplified the Mail header and still provide you the option to switch back to Mail Classic if you want. To do so, click on "Options' on the right-hand side and select "Switch Yahoo! Mail Classic…"

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Left Me Unimpressed

I've watched all of the Harry Potter movies to date although I haven't read a single book of its ever famous franchise. Dating back to the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001, Harry Potter faithfuls have thronged the cinemas on the opening weekends of every Harry Potter film released until the latest Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in 2009, which I find to be the least interesting of all. It carried me through the entire movie without the suspense and elevated mystery that I was looking forward to. To be honest, I expected better. I hope the next installment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, would be much better. The first part is due for release on 19 November 2010, the second part on 15 July 2011. DVD Collectible Set: Harry Potter Years 1-6 Giftset (Widescreen Edition) available at Amazon.com, my trusted online retailer.

Happy New Year 2010!

Happy New Year 2010 Peeps! As 2009 draws to a close, we look to leave behind the downs and losses of 2009, especially for the financial and automotive meltdown which led to a global widespread recession. I'd like to thank all for your support this year. Life is short, so make full use of it. I wish you all the best that life can offer and continue to be driven and inspired to succeed in everything you do in life.

New Super Mario Bros for Nintendo Wii

The kids of the 80's are definitely loving this. And they'd be missing out on a huge come back hit if they choose to skip this experience. The favorite game of the 80's is back in the New Super Mario Bros (NSMB) for Nintendo Wii. This is a follow up to the Nintendo DS version which also became an instant hit last Christmas. I remember that Super Mario was a must have game in the Nintendo console 15 years back and Nintendo did a great job in renewing the Mario franchise with Super Mario Bros 3. 2009 will all be about the New Super Mario Bros Wii which now provides the option to have multiplayers actively playing at the very same time. Now I am thinking about tag team acts to get through the stages and deliberate pushing of your partner to sabotage the game. Up to 4 players can be playing at the same time and it is gonna look chaotic to me, but fun. No doubt about it.

I am itching to get my hands on my Wii and have a go at this all time favorite game franchise from Nintendo. Also introduced this time around are new power ups like the Ice Flower which is the opposite of the usual fireball attack. With the Ice Flower power up, you could freeze the enemy into a block and use it as an object to be thrown or pushed around. Then there's the Penguin Suit which, on top of the Ice Flower's ability, allows players to slide along the ground and across water as well as have better control on ice and in water. The Propeller Suit power up allows players to launch up into the air (fly).

This game has gathered some accolades like the IGN 2009 Wii Game of the Year Award and Best Wii Game Award at the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards besides making the biggest debut for a Wii game in Japan. And in the US, it has become the biggest seller after the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which is another humongous hit to be honest with the graphics, gameplay and everything. But to compare the New Super Mario Bros to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 would not be fair considering the New Super Mario Bros is still being played in a 2D platform amid efforts by the game developer to enhance gameplay experience by having some of the characters and objects are 3D polygonal renderings on 2D backgrounds, resulting in what some people call 2.5D. Having achieved that,

Hot Deal: New Super Mario Bros $40 at Amazon with Free Shipping

Amazon has New Super Mario Bros (Wii) for $40 with free shipping. It is currently out of stock but estiamted to be back in stock on January 3, 2010. Nevertheless, this matches the $40 pricetag which Best Buy is offering now as part of Best Buy's promotion. However, it is out of stock as per Best Buy's website as well, so you  need to go to B&M to see if they have it. A quick check for my zipcode showed that the 5 nearest Best Buy stores are out. Anyway, it's cheaper if you buy this through Amazon now because you don't have to pay for tax. And don't forget your cashback through BigCrumbs.

Adidas Trovao 2 Sandals

I finally made the purchase for a new pair of Adidas sandals (Adidas Trovao 2) to replace my current Adidas CC Slide 3 which is getting pretty worn out and discolored. The Trovao 2 provides extreme comfort with the fitFOAM™ footbed that molds and shapes itself to the contours of your foot. I was initially interested in buying 2 pairs of the Trovao 2 (1 red and 1 blue) but seems like the red color one is no longer available. I had the Adidas CC Slide 3 in red and the CC Slide 2 in blue. So let the tradition live on!

Mario Kart Wii with Wii Wheel

Mario Kart Wii (with Wii Wheel) is the first game that comes into my mind for Nintendo games after Street Fighter because I used to play the Nintendo 64 version way back when I was a little boy. The battle royale style of comical racing is definitely going to bring so much fun to the players, especially the younger ones. Special Powers/Weapons/Moves/Features: Whether racing around an obstacle-filled track or battling in an arena, drifting and tossing items are the keys to Mario Kart success. Players can shake the Wii Remote while launching off a ramp to pull off a trick that will temporarily boost their speed. When riding a bike, players can gain additional speed by flicking the Wii Remote up and popping a wheelie!

The Wii Wheel provides an extra dimension to how we would normally play Mario Kart (and attack your friends) and I can see people busting out in laughters in the multiplayer mode.
