Almost the end of my second and last day in Las Vegas. No strip shows, no sex, no winnings, no shopping spree, no fine dining. I can't believe it myself. I was on a losing streak playing the slot machines and gave it my last try with the $5 note. And voila! I won $120 on one game.
Ka Ching! Money!

Windows Media Player Very Sluggish in Vista
Yes, there's noticable time delay when switching tracks and jerking sounds (so annoyingly annoying) in the middle of the songs when more RAM is used for some other activity.
So I went ahead and downloaded the latest copy of Winamp. Now it's 5.3
Geez, back when I first started using computer and and the infamous Napster, it was still Winamp 2
Makes me realise how fast time passes. How quick happy times sprint away.
Live life cool. No Vista.

Adapted from IHOP (International House of Pancakes)

It was seen on G4TV.
Apparently it did not make it to Google.

Snip : Windows Vista Hidden Feature 1
Want to snip a screenshot? Doing the old way is to use the printscreen button on the keyboard.
Now you can do the same in Vista with Snipping Tool, but you can now select the area you want! Just draw an onscreen box by dragging your mouse and snap away!
To do this, press Windows key and type in Snip and press Enter.

Southwest Airline Now Flying to San Francisco (SFO)
Southwest Airlines said they are thrilled to announce their new service into San Francisco International Airport! On August 26, they will inaugurate service with 8 daily nonstops to San Diego, 7 to Las Vegas, and 3 to Chicago (Midway), plus direct and connecting service to 46 other Southwest cities.
Too bad they didn't introduce it on time for my West Coast trip with my family later this month.

My First Games on PSP
(1) Gradius
Gradius is an old school game which I used to play a lot back in my early teens. Back when it was still Nintendo 64 and and Sega era. It's a plane fighter game, and I forgot the name of the game until one day I saw it on G4TV. I was totally jumping onto my couch and screaming around when I saw it on TV. I got a version for PSP rightaway knowing that I would get a PSP one day.
(2) WipeOut Pure
Wipeout Pure is rated as one of the best earlier PSP games released alongside games like Ridge Racer. Now the latest version is WipeOut Pulse. But still, these are 2 games which I would say be must-haves.

SmarterTravel's Kuala Lumpur Guide/Overview
I received my usual SmartedTravel newsletter and skimmed through it and found a link for Kuala Lumpur Overview. Clicked on it instantly.
Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, is a working dichotomy of old and new. For instance, colonial homes dwell in the shadows of glorious architectural feats such as the Petronas Towers, haute cuisine restaurants sit side-by-side with local specialties from hawker stalls, and extravagant shopping malls such as Berjaya Times Square compete with authentic street markets. The city, affectionately known as KL, promises to keep visitors entertained with a never-ending string of choices.
Although Kuala Lumpur is a large, modern-day city, finding trustworthy or specific information about it proves quite difficult. Aside from a few solid KL sites, one of the best strategies is to look for information on general Malaysia websites.
When to go to Kuala Lumpur

Vista "power-saving" Profile Disables the Aero Interface
The "power-saving" profile disables the Aero interface in Windows Vista.
It's mainly because the Aero interface (yeah the new 'cool' one) is eating up the battery time. Draining your battery like a leech. Sucking out the battery, sorry.
The Aero interface is automatically disabled when a user puts their Vista notebook into the "power-saving" profile, one of three new simplified power management states. While that makes for an arguably duller experience, Microsoft said it commissioned a study (click here for PDF) that found no difference in "responsiveness," or application load time, between a notebook with Aero disabled versus one running the fancy graphics: implying that Aero doesn't put too much of a load on the system. But the notebook and Tablet PC used in Principled Technologies' test had the power management setting on "high-performance" when testing Aero's performance. At that setting, the notebook won't ever compromise performance to preserve battery life, so responsiveness isn't an issue.
Microsoft, for its part, will likely have to improve Vista's battery life performance over time through the release of service packs and other tweaks.

Vista draining laptop batteries
Some of Microsoft's most important customers aren't happy with the battery life offered by notebooks running Windows Vista.
Vista, while touted as having improved power management capabilities that would make it easier for users to extend battery life, isn't to some living up to that promise. The main culprit appears to be the Aero Glass interface, a spiffy new user interface that makes Vista more pleasing to the eye with transparent windows and animated transitions when moving from one application to another.
Note this: When Aero is turned off, battery life is equal to or better than Windows XP systems. But with it turned on, battery life suffers compared with Windows XP.
Microsoft made some important changes in Vista that do improve some aspects of battery life, such as smarter hibernation modes that override applications that want to keep running, and simpler options for choosing a power management setting. But laptop users who spent extra money on powerful laptops to handle the graphics requirements of Vista and the Aero interface are forced to run the aesthetic equivalent of Vista Basic, the low-cost version of Vista, if they care about battery life.
However, the Aero interface does add an improvement to Vista. It's one of the most notable upgrade from XP. If you remove Aero, what would Vista be?

Lionsgate Films Presents Bug Starring Ashley Judd
Lionsgate Films Presents Bug Starring Ashley Judd
First they send in their drone, then they find their queen
There is a new bug movie coming to the cinema screens later this month. It's presented by Lionsgate Films and has Ashley Judd on board. This film is rated R and is brought to you by the director of Exorcist. That should give the audience a rough idea on what to expect from this movie. Here's the trailer which is on YouTube:
BUG movie has an inviting homepage. Quite creepy, somewhat high level of horror. The bug movie is going to hit the screens on May 25 2007 all across the nation. The Boston Herald quoted that the BUG movie is one of the most scary horror movie ever. As I mentioned, the homepage looks very inviting. Providing a great sense of suspense and horror.
The BUG movie has 2 posters available.
The first one (with the bug in white background) looks less scary as it doesn't really portray the whole content of the movie. It doesn't bring out the horror or the suspense. Conversely, the second poster provides a clearer image on what to expect. A picture that tells the audience this IS a horror movie, and a good one. A brief synopsis of the BUG movie is as follows:
Bug Movie Synopsis: A lonely waitress with a tragic past, Agnes (Ashely Judd) rooms in a run-down motel, living in fear of her abusive, recently paroled ex-husband. But when Agnes begins a tentative romance with Peter, an eccentric, nervous drifter, she starts to feel hopeful again - until the first bugs arrive.
This post is brought to you by Lionsgate Films

Tracy McGrady Did It Again (1st Round Playoff Loss)
Tracy McGrady had never won a playoff series, and on Saturday night, he failed to change that for the sixth time. Yes, that's six playoff series in a row dating back to his heydays with the Orlando Magic.
This time, they lost a 7 game series to the Utah Jazz. The Houston Rockets rely too much on their dynamic duo of McGrady and Yao Ming. They lack a true dominating point guard in Rafer Alston. The whole Rockets team as a whole is good but not good enough. They are slow and sluggish and there's no one 3rd man who can truly support McGrady and Yao.
Shane Battier is the closest to being the no.3 guy. But coach van Gundy is using Battier as their sixth man. Battier is one experienced player who can make big plays, take charges and make open shots. They also need a new back up center for Yao. Dikembe Mutombo is so yesteryear. He's old and slow and doesn't have even 10% of the offensive presence of Yao.
And poor Jay, looks like he won't have the opportunity to see Tracy McGrady or Yao Ming when he goes to Houston. :(

Make Money Online with LinkWorth
Linkworth is a new program that I am testing out. Some people have been successful in using Linkworth to generate income for their websites. Through its text link advertising, advertisers place links on words available on the website to drive more traffic out through the links. This turns out to be one of their core services and also most popular service among its members.
Linkworth also provide other options such as LinkPosts and LinkWords. LinkPosts are similar to blogvertising through blog entries. A certain topic is chosen by the advertiser and the bloggers are required to blend that into their blog entries and disclose that those posts are sponsored as per the general disclosure policy on many similar sites. Give LinkWorth a try and who knows, it might just turn out to be your best income generator for your website.

feeling down and hunchback
feeling so down sitting on the chair with my hunchback now.
the stressful life has begun? final exams are in 10 days, hotel reservations aren't done yet, people are shooting emails around about graduation dinner, and something cropped up so probably my parents wont make their trip to Madison afterall. I m not down because of that, I am down because of all these shits happening around me, beyond me, round the clock, tick tock tick tock, fuckity fuck.
and i just found out from sneezylingweng that my aunt had a miscarriage after 5 months of pregnancy.
the feeling of lost of words. and connection. feeling powerless and damned.
a quote from Must Love Dogs comes to mind: " the violation of expectation and the crushing of love and hope"
life goes on.
we try to survive
we try to thrive
for we live for others
and we live for ourselves
not live on our own
