Tracy McGrady had never won a playoff series, and on Saturday night, he failed to change that for the sixth time. Yes, that's six playoff series in a row dating back to his heydays with the Orlando Magic.
This time, they lost a 7 game series to the Utah Jazz. The Houston Rockets rely too much on their dynamic duo of McGrady and Yao Ming. They lack a true dominating point guard in Rafer Alston. The whole Rockets team as a whole is good but not good enough. They are slow and sluggish and there's no one 3rd man who can truly support McGrady and Yao.
Shane Battier is the closest to being the no.3 guy. But coach van Gundy is using Battier as their sixth man. Battier is one experienced player who can make big plays, take charges and make open shots. They also need a new back up center for Yao. Dikembe Mutombo is so yesteryear. He's old and slow and doesn't have even 10% of the offensive presence of Yao.
And poor Jay, looks like he won't have the opportunity to see Tracy McGrady or Yao Ming when he goes to Houston. :(
