Tech: iCall - Free VoIP 2.0 - Better than Skype?

I am sure many of you are familiar with Skype, who took the VOIP by storm by offering free and easy PC-to-Phone calls using existing internet connections.

Then there's iCall (http://www.icall.com), a software similar to Skype, and dubbed by many as the Skype killer. iCall states that it is the only VOIP provider giving completely free calls to the USA and Canada for all internet users (not just those in the USA like Skype). That should draw some attention and attract some fan base, especially those who have close friends and relatives living up north.

iCall has free inbound access numbers in almost every US area code. They currently have inbound local access numbers in 187 area codes. Just have your friends call one one of them and enter your iCall extension, and you're through! Missing calls while you're away to Math class or while you're taking a shower? Now iCall has free personalised voicemail to take care of that.

The current version is 2.0.0.28
File size: 1.52MB (approxiamtely 1 minute on DSL/cable)

Installation was a breeze. The user interface is simple (very good) and easy to use. I bet my grandma will have no problem using it! And they are running a promo now with a daily winner getting an iPod when you call the "free iPod" number preset in iCall. Winners will be posted in the forums. They are also running a referral program where you'll be entered for the $100 daily draw after you refer 5 people to sign up with iCall. (http://www.icall.com/refer/geckoseiya)
