Mozilla Firefox 3 Portable

One of the must have portable apps has to be the Mozilla Firefox 3 Portable. This is one of my favorite. Update your Firefox to the latest version 3 or grab yourself a copy of Mozilla Firefox 3 Portable. It's free. And it's better than Internet Explorer. Really.

Antec Notebook Cooler S

I bought a notebook cooler from Antec 2 years ago, the Antec Notebook Cooler ($14.99 now). I still remember I paid $29.99 before tax for it from Staples and returned it the next week. I read the reviews and it looked pretty good, both in terms of efficiency and design. However, after trying it out for a few days, I didn't think it was best for my laptop (it was a NEC Versa E600 then).

Now, Antec has a different approach to it and came out with Antec Notebook Cooler S. ($25 now). This is a smaller and more portable unit which acts as a tilt at the back of your notebook.

Unlike its predecessor, this Notebook Cooler S is built of plastic. Its idea is to create a space for the airflow to cool the area beneath the laptop. This avoids the generated heat from being trapped under your laptop.

It has a pass-through USB cable so you don't lose your limited USB slot if you need this. This Notebook Cooler S is not suitable to be placed on your laps. You need to really stabilise your laptop because of the design. The previous version is pad with its top "grill" made of aluminum. I have yet to find a satisfactory notebook cooler device because nowadays I am using my laptop as my main PC. Afterall, it consumes less power and is portable with less wirings.

Multipurpose Tactical Pants

I'm not a fan of wearing slacks when going to work. I prefer something more "useful" and gadgety. The 5.11 tactical pants falls into this category. The 5.11 Tactical TacLite Zip Off Pants (an exclusive new pants) is truly the type that I like. Multipurpose and trendy. The zip-off lower portion gives me the flexibility of short and long pants, both in 1 pair of pants! The 7-pocket configuration surely fits everything that I ever need at work! Affordable price without compromising on flexibility and comfort, this is a sure buy.

What Is a T Chart? A T Chart Example

I came across this term "T Chart" from a colleague of mine. I didn't know what a T Chart was. I have never came across this term in school and college. After doing a quicksearch on Google, I found out more about the T Charts. The example I saw from my friend is a four-category chart with a "t" shaped in the center listing the 4 categories and details expanding in all 4 directions (up, down, left, right). This can be quite confusing especially when it's overloaded with information in all 4 directions, not to mention if you change the alignment of the text to fit everything nicely in it. On the website, there are manny different types of T Charts! Even a normal comparison table can be considered a T Chart.

Quote:
T-Charts are a type of chart, a graphic organizer in which a student lists and examines two facets of a topic, like the pros and cons associated with it, its advantages and disadvantages, facts vs. opinions, etc.
For example, a student can use a T-chart to help graphically organize thoughts about:
Making a decision by comparing resulting advantages and disadvantages (like getting a pet or taking a new job),
Evaluating the pros and cons of a topic (for example, adopting a new invention),
Enumerating the problems and solutions associated with an action (for example, analyzing the plot of a book or a topic like poor nutrition),
Listing
facts vs. opinions of a theme (great to use after reading a selection of text or a news article),
Explaining the strengths and weaknesses of a piece of writing (useful after reading a piece of persuasive or expository writing),
Listing any two characteristics of a topic (like the main ideas for a given topic and a salient detail for each idea).

Netgear MIMO Wireless Router $25 at Fry's

Fry's is selling the Netgear WPN824 RangeMax Wireless-G Router MIMO for only $25.00 with free shipping! This is a refurbished unit. However, for $25, I still think is worth the investment. MIMO technology extends the wireless coverage throughout the house or office. It has 7 built in smart antennas, to find the best performance configuration from 127 options when there's interference of signals or mobilization. Anyone up for a $25 investment?

Now We Have TSA Approved Laptop Bags

First we had TSA approved locks which only prevents you from having your locks broken but not your luggages broken into. Yes, there are cases of TSA agents stealing from our checked-in luggages. Now there's TSA approved laptop bags, by MobileEdge. They don't look superfancy, and they don't even look fancy. The new regulations allow some notebooks to remain in their bag, as long as the X-ray equipment can see through and nothing is placed in front of, or behind the notebook. However, there's always at least one TSA buthead agent who didn't get/read/understand the memo, and still yells at you to remove your notebook. After all, these are the same people who doubted the MacBook Air was a real notebook.

TSA Agents Stealing Things from Our Luggages?

Ever crossed your mind after you return from your wonderful vacation from Hawaii or Japan or wherever that's nice to you, you find that your camera is stolen from your luggage bag? Yes, even if you have the TSA-approved lock thingy. There are cases where valuables have been stolen from the checked-in luggage bags. Rings, cameras, camcorders, cellphones, jewelwries, gifts, and even meds! You name it! Think about it, you checked in your bag, and your bag is well taken care of by the airport staff. The TSA thieves are smart. They pick the more expensive and smaller items.

Since it was created in 2001, the agency has fired about 200 employees accused of stealing. How much do you believe in the TSA. Before this, I never believed that I'd someday be the victim of this kinda theft. But after gaining some info and opinions, I changed my mind. I am gonna carry on my valuables with me starting from my next flight. I wouldn't wanna regret it. Neither would you all.

If you suspect that a TSA agent has stolen your precious items, please, please, please fill out a complaint form on the TSA website. If you don't fill it out, your case won't be tracked and a thief might target other travelers' gear, too.

Awesome Kingdom of Hearts for PSP Box Art

Came across this box art of Kingdom of Hearts for PSP and I think it's an awesome piece of artwork. Maybe this can replace the cover of that game if I happen to buy it someday. The release date is to be announced. Only the Japanese version has been officially announced. But they have mentioned they have plans to release for other regions as well. Fingers crossed.

R-Type Command PSP Price Drop - Still with Free Replica

I hopped over to Amazon yesterday and saw that the price of R-Type Command for PSP has dropped to $26.79 (new). And it still comes with the free ship replica! The free ship replica was originally listed when you pre-order R-Type Command for PSP at $39.99 as I mentioned before. From the reviews, it seems that this is not the shooter game which I had hoped for. It's more of a strategy game. The graphics look as awesome as before, not sure about the gameplay though. I'll keep monitoring the price drop and hope to snap the deal when it feels right.

Zenni Optical Glasses for June

My friend June asked me for a recommendation of an online store for her to changer her glasses. I know a few places and I also know that there are Incredible Stylish New Frames From Zenni this season. I am pleased to find lots of low priced great deals like single vision glasses starting at as low as $8, yeah it's the Zenni Optical $8 Rx Glasses. She mentioned she would like to choose glasses with free UV protection and anti scratch coating this time. She goes to the beach often for "natural tanning". She asked me if this store is realiable. I told her not to worry, Zenni Optical was on FOX news! A new pair of glasses, anyone?

P/S: The Secret to Zenni’s Low Prices is that they sell only their own manufactured frames direct to the customer, with no middlemen and virtually no advertising budget.

Top 10 Tips for Your Most Enjoyable Holiday Yet

Don't go on holiday without the Post Office Travel Checklist!
Top ten tips for your most enjoyable holiday yet:
1. Online check inChecking in online can save you loads of time at the airport. You can drop your luggage off in a designated area at the airport, or better still, just take hand luggage and start your holiday while everyone else is waiting for their bags!
2. Luggage loveDon't lose your luggage or walk off with someone else's. Get a really distinctive suitcase, or decorate yours with colourful straps and ribbons. If you don't want to put your address on your suitcase, just put a mobile number instead.
3. In flight essentials Your holiday experience begins on the flight. Take ear plugs, eye mask and travel pillow for sleeping on the plane, and socks and a jumper to keep warm.
4. First aid kitAs well as any prescription medicines, remember to pack paracetamol, plasters, insect repellent and dehydration sachets.
5. Spare juiceYou'll need batteries or the charger for your camera, MP3 player, laptop or handheld computer. Make sure they're charged up, take spares and a battery charger, and don't forget the right adapter for the country you're going to.
6. Extra eyesLose your glasses and sightseeing loses its edge. Take a spare pair with you, it's a requirement in some European countries if you're the designated driver. Contact lens wearers should go disposable. You won't have to worry about losing a lens or carry solution around with you.
7. The right suncreamTake suncream that's the right strength for your skin. Cancer Research recommends at least SPF15, higher for children, people with fair skin or lots of moles or freckles.
8. A pre booked parking spaceFor the ultimate in convenience, pre book a guaranteed parking space at the airport. A Meet and Greet service is ideal if you've got lots of luggage and/or kids.
9. ConnectionsDon't get stung when making calls, sending texts or using the Internet on holiday. Ask your network provider if your phone will work abroad and what the charges are. Remember that it can cost as much as £1 per minute even to receive calls abroad. It may work out cheaper to buy a local phone card when you are there or an international SIM card before you go.
10. Travel insuranceYour own travel insurance is essential, even if you have an EHIC card. It's your peace of mind in case your luggage gets lost, or someone in your family becomes ill. Post Office travel insurance policies start at just £5.50 for singe trip travel insurance, or - if you're going away more than twice this year - save money with an annual travel insurance policy, and kids go free!

JBL On Tour Portable Speaker System

The JBL On Tour Portable Speaker System is one of the items in my wishlist. However, I am not planning to swipe my credit card and pay for it. I'll make use of my existing Amazon.com gift certificates to redeem it for "free". I've been monitoring the price for a month or two. It has dropped from $39.99 to $39.19 to $38.80 now. This item would serve as a travel/portable speaker set for me since the Dell E1405's speakers are crappy and simply not loud enough. It'd be mainly reserved for watching movies/listening to music only. Reviews on Amazon seem to suggest that this might be worth it. I'll write a review of my own when I redeem this item.

Movies: The Bucket List (2007)

One movie which made it into my list of movies to watch earlier (last year). However, after watching it over the weekend, I couldn't figure out why it got into my list at the first place. A cast pair-up of Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman would normally present something big like a box office hit. Instead, I got an average movie. I expected more, honestly. It's about a story of the friendship that developed between 2 terminal cancer patients, all beginning in a hospital room. It all circles around the concept of a list called "The Bucket List" -- things to do before they kick the bucket (die). They did skydiving, drag racing and travelling to exotic places around the globe. Most importantly, the discovery of friendship what's important in life through the journey, through one another. Grab a copy of The Bucket List from Amazon and watch it if you want.

1 Can of Sweet Fleshy Longans

You can never go wrong in paying a couple of more dimes for a can on longans. You get sweet fleshy longans. Firm and tight. (no please do not compare the idea to your girlfriend's butt). Cheaper brands contain longans which are half sweet and lacking firmness. I bought the cheapo version a week ago and boy did I regret that. This week's longans are fleshy and round and firm. Just the way it's supposed to me. Watch out on the sugar water. Don't take too much of it. It's for our own good.

Needing Computer RAM Upgrade

I hate slow computers. It frustrates me when it's taking ages to load something on my computer and the RAM LED is blinking non-stop. This happens everywhere. At home, at the library, and especially at my work place. There's no doubt I am seriously thinking about Adding Computer RAM everyday I use that HP machine for work. It's a simple task everyone can perform. Just buy the correct RAM upgrade and stick it into the slot on your motherboard and see the boost your computer just received.

RAM prices are dropping as they reach for bigger capacity and greater speed. Sources like MemoryDeal provides the listing of the different types of RAM and their respective prices for your convenience. As they say, "Adding extra memory is today the simplest and most cost-effective way of upgrading one computer." I know there are some of you Apple fans reading this. Don't worry, just hit up Add IMAC Memory for your beloved yester-generation's iMac.

That PC underneath my desk is from a few years back, and a few years back means it's pretty left behind in terms of speed with respect to today's technological wonder. Its motherboard supports the older (and slower) type of RAM. Looks like I'll have to look in the DDR PC2700 Memory category. Since the company is forever on a tight budget, I bet they wouldn't fork out some serious cash for a new computer unless I break mine.

StumbleUdon Closed Down

I was surprised to find out that StumbleUdon was closed down. StumbleUdon was a website where one could get free Stumbles to their website/blog. It's unfortunate that the project has to be suspended. Something must have caught up on them. StumbleUdon, sayonara~!

Looks like they recommended PiggUs now!
