A "soft" reset clears all open programs and "reboots" the Cingular 8125 Pocket PC Phone. When the handheld powers back up, you'll start with all active programs closed and the device ready to use. This procedure is intended to reset a Pocket PC Phone if it is malfunctioning or has become bogged down. This reset is also sometimes necessary after software is installed.
A soft reset is the Cingular 8125 is equivalent to restarting your Desktop or Laptop. The Cingular 8125 can be soft reset by pressing the recessed button on the left side of the unit directly below the Infrared port.
